Glyphosate: A Trajectory of Human Misery

'Glyphosate has likely caused more damage to human health than any other chemical ever produced. Indeed, it is probably a cause of the explosion in chronic diseases. Surely civilization cannot be maintained when the average person is irrevocably ill. This trajectory of human misery must come to an end.'

'Glyphosate was first introduced in 1974 and has become the world’s most dominant herbicide. It’s now generic, so there are many brands and formulations. As a result, it’s virtually ubiquitous, found nearly everywhere on earth. Further driving its use are genetically modified (GM) crops, which were first developed for the purpose of creating glyphosate-tolerant plants, usually known as Roundup Ready. These have resulted in ever-more blatant and free use, especially in the wake of glyphosate-resistant superweeds. Estimates put glyphosate-tolerant GM crops at 90% of all transgene crops.'

How yoga helps Multiple Sclerosis

Photo Credit: Inner Spirit Yoga Center

'Every morning, Homa Fani, 56, of Los Angeles, spends about an hour practicing Iyengar yoga. A form of Hatha yoga, Iyengar focuses on breathing, alignment, and postures to improve strength and flexibility, and to enhance the mind and body.

Fani, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis more than 20 years ago, says that practicing Iyengar yoga regularly helps her better manage her disease. "When you have MS and you get up in the morning, you need to stretch your body and do things that help you continue for the rest of the day," she says. "Practicing yoga - breathing and stretching - not only helps me physically but it also helps me mentally and emotionally."'

7 Crazy Things Pesticides Are Doing to Your Body

'Agrochemicals, home bug sprays, and lawn treatments could be causing chronic illness in your family.
Pesticides are designed to kill, although the mode of action they use to put the stranglehold on pests varies. Whether it’s nerve gas–like neurological disruption, the unbalancing of key hormones, or the stunting of a plant’s ability to absorb life-sustaining trace minerals from the soil, none of the chemical interventions seems all that appetizing, especially considering that chemical residues routinely wind up on and even inside of the food we eat everyday. Pesticides are also blamed for diminishing mineral levels in foods.'

Shocking Health Effects of Commonly Used Pesticide: Brain Problems, Sexual Deformities and Paralysis

'Endocrine disruptors, synthetic chemicals that mimic and interfere with natural hormones, lurk everywhere from canned foods and microwave popcorn bags to cosmetics and carpet-cleaning solutions. The chemicals, which include pesticides, fire retardants and plastics, are in thermal store receipts, antibacterial detergents and toothpaste (like Colgate's Total with triclosan) and the plastic BPA which Washington state banned in baby bottles.

Endocrine disruptors are linked to breast cancer, infertility, low sperm counts, genital deformities, early puberty and diabetes in humans and alarming mutations in wildlife. They are also suspected in the epidemic of behavior and learning problems in children which has coincided, many say, with wide endocrine disruptor use.'

EWG’s dirty dozen and clean 15 guide to food safety

'Eat your fruits and vegetables! The health benefits of a diet rich in fruits and vegetables outweigh the risks of pesticide exposure. Use EWG’s Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides™ to reduce your exposures as much as possible, but eating conventionally-grown produce is far better than not eating fruits and vegetables at all.

The Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides in Produce™ will help you determine which fruits and vegetables have the most pesticide residues and are the most important to buy organic. You can lower your pesticide intake substantially by avoiding the 12 most contaminated fruits and vegetables and eating the least contaminated produce.'

Even Low Levels of a Pesticide Used In Corn Crops, Almonds, Orange and Apple Trees Causes Irreversible Changes in the Brain

'Even low levels of one of the most widely used pesticides in the world, chlorpyrifos, frequently applied to crops of cotton, corn, almonds, and fruit trees including oranges and apples, leads to long-term, potentially irreversible changes in the brain structure of the child, according to a new brain imaging study by researchers.'

List of Foods that Contain the Highest Amount of Pesticides

'Much of the produce that is sold today in supermarkets is supplied from farmers who practice conventional farming methods. In other words, the produce has been grown using chemical fertilizers as well as pesticides and herbicides. Many scientific studies suggest that the effects of synthetic pesticides can be detrimental to our health; one study suggests that the consumption of pesticides may lead to ADHD in children; in some other cases, exposure can lead to many forms of cancers, infertility problems and birth defects.

Along with the many other poor 'food like' products we are eating, there is an array of foreign substances that are entering our bodies. As we expose ourselves to these synthetic substances over the years, our bodies become overloaded, and our 'cleaning' mechanisms fail to work. As a result, many of us develop sickness and disease because our bodies cannot efficiently remove these toxins anymore.'

WWII Military Handbook Reveals Pesticide Chemicals Used In Infant Vaccines

US Serviceman Sprayed With Pesticides
'A United States military handbook published in 1946 shows chemical compounds used in formulating the pesticide DDT are currently injected into babies.'

'The handbook entitled, “DDT and Other Insecticides and Repellents”, reveals Triton X-100, Tween 20, and Tween 80 were used as major components of spraying operations of DDT. Their stated purpose was to prevent separation of ingredients and increase absorption of DDT.

A major twist to the story is revealing the company owning the patent for DDT. More on that later.'

Methyl iodide pesticide gets state approval despite links to cancer

'California regulators approved a pesticide Wednesday for use by fruit and vegetable growers despite heavy opposition from environmental and farmworker groups that cited its links to cancer.
The state Department of Pesticide Regulation will register methyl iodide as a substitute for the pesticide methyl bromide, which is being phased out by international treaty because it depletes the protective ozone layer.

California's $1.6 billion strawberry industry will undoubtedly provide one of the biggest markets for the chemical, as will the Central Valley's nut orchards and the fresh flower nurseries dotting the coast in Ventura and San Diego counties.'

Drugging the Children

By Dr. Mark Sircus

'New research suggests that exposure to high levels of organophosphate pesticides, commonly found on berries, celery and other produce, and could raise the odds for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children. At this point, though, there is no evidence that pesticide exposure can actually cause ADHD, stated the authors of a paper appearing in the June issue of Pediatrics. At the same time, weirdly, we have the mainstream media publishing brainless research saying that there is currently no strong evidence that organic foods bring nutrition-related health benefits.'
