'A new and well-done study clearly documents the relationship between hygiene and Alzheimer’s disease throughout the world. The lower the exposure to microbes, the greater the rate of Alzheimer’s. They name several hygiene issues, but have ignored the most significant according to modern medicine’s own claims: vaccines. Their research clearly shows that vaccines, along with other hygiene issues, are associated with dementia.

A new study has documented an association between hygiene and Alzheimer’s disease. The usual interpretation is that too much cleanliness has led to the epidemic of Alzheimer’s, but that isn’t the whole story. There is an elephant in the hygiene room called vaccine.'

Which Antioxidants Protect Against Alzheimer’s Disease?

Which Antioxidants Protect Against Alzheimer's Disease?

'Are you walking into rooms but can't remember why? Staring into the refrigerator and wondering what you needed? Forgetting familiar phone numbers? Maybe an orange or a carrot would help.

A study from the University of Ulm suggests that people with mild dementia – an early sign of Alzheimer's Disease – have significantly lower blood concentrations of vitamin C and beta-carotene than their healthy counterparts.

The researchers suggest it might be possible to influence the development of Alzheimer's Disease by your diet or by taking dietary antioxidants.'

B Vitamins Slow Alzheimer's and Grey Matter Loss

B Vitamins Slow Alzheimer's and Grey Matter Loss

'Researchers from the University of Oxford have determined that B vitamin supplementation can slow and possibly reverse the progression of Alzheimer's symptoms along with cognitive impairment.

The researchers – from Oxford's Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences - conducted a clinical trial with 156 elderly patients who had mild cognitive impairment and a high risk of dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

The researchers randomized the patients and for two years, gave one group a daily supplement with 800 micrograms of folic acid, 20 milligrams of vitamin B6, and 500 micrograms of vitamin B12. They gave a placebo supplement to the control group.'

Dietary fats found to play a crucial role in the development of Alzheimer's disease

ED NOTE: Unfortunately, the "nutritional consultant" who wrote this article is from the old school that healthy saturated fats are bad for you and presents a study of that same old school ilk. Hydrogenated processed fake fats are the actual culprits. At least some of the commentators caught that.

'Newly diagnosed cases of Alzheimer's dementia have steadily skyrocketed over the past half century, suspiciously coinciding with the rise in meals consumed in fast food restaurants and the marketing of convenience products that consist largely of saturated and hydrogenated fats along with refined carbohydrates.

It is no coincidence that the two events are closely related, as more scientific evidence continues to explain how this dreaded disease is largely the result of dietary indiscretions and lack of proper nutrition.'

The Promise of Cinnamon and Vitamins in the Fight Against Alzheimer’s Disease

'The first study in question, published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease3, found that cinnamaldehyde and epicatechin, two compounds found in cinnamon, have an inhibitory effect on the aggregation of a particular protein called tau. Tau plays a large role in the structure and function of neurons.

But while a normal part of cell structures, this protein can begin to accumulate, forming “neurofibrillary tangles” that are a hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease. Both compounds were found to protect tau from oxidative damage that can lead to dysfunction.'

Turmeric Produces 'Remarkable' Recovery in Alzheimer's Patients

Turmeric Produces 'Remarkable' Recovery in Alzheimer's Patients

'Turmeric has been used in India for over 5,000 years, which is likely why still today both rural and urban populations have some of the lowest prevalence rates of Alzheimer's disease (AD) in the world. A recent study on patients with AD found that less than a gram of turmeric daily, taken for three months, resulted in 'remarkable improvements.'

Aluminium in Vaccines Linked to Alzheimer’s Disease

'When examining the cornucopia of toxic chemicals that saturate the environment in which all human life exists, aluminum has become the weapon of choice for the current population reduction program being facilitated by vaccinations and immunizations. Aluminum, listed by the (EPA) Environmental Pollution Agency as a developmental neurotoxin, is used as an adjuvant in vaccinations to enhance the effects of the already toxic concoction.

Aluminum has the ability to cross over the blood-brain barrier getting stuck inside the brain and building up over time eventually leading to Alzheimer’s disease and Central Nervous System disorders.'

MCT Fats Found In Coconut Oil Boost Brain Function In Only One Dose

MCT Fats Found In Coconut Oil Boost Brain Function In Only One Dose

'Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs), the primary type of fat found within coconut oil, have been found to boost cognitive performance in older adults suffering from memory disorders as serious as Alzheimer's -- and not after months or even days of treatment, but after a single dose!

A groundbreaking 2004 study published in the journal Neurobiology of Aging found that the administration of medium chain triglycerides (MCTs), the primary fat type found in coconut oil, almost immediately improved cognitive function in older adults with memory disorders.'

Low-Carb Diet May Slow Alzheimer’s Disease

from mercola.com:

'Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S. This fatal and progressive condition destroys brain cells, resulting in memory loss and severe thinking and behavioral problems (aggression, delusions, and hallucinations) that interfere with daily life and activities

The cause is conventionally believed to be a mystery. While we know that certain diseases, like type 2 diabetes, are definitively connected to the foods you eat, Alzheimer's is generally thought to strike without warning or reason.

That is, until recently. A growing body of research suggests there may be a powerful connection between the foods you eat and your risk of Alzheimer's disease and dementia, via similar pathways that cause type 2 diabetes. Some have even re-named Alzheimer's as "type 3 diabetes."'

Coconut Oil and Alzheimer’s: The Low-fat Diet and Cholesterol Lowering Drugs Part of the Problem?

'2012 was the year that the news about coconut oil and Alzheimer’s disease started making it into the mainstream media. This is not surprising, as it coincided with news about the failure of drugs in treating Alzheimer’s also making headlines. In January 2012, drug companies Pfizer and Medivation admitted that the new drug they were developing for Alzheimer’s, dimebon, not only did not help patients in trials, but made patients worse.

The expensive drug had already reached phase III trials. (See story here on ABC News) So as the development of this drug has now been abandoned, and so many other potential drugs have also failed, many are beginning to look at the role of diet in Alzheimer’s and focusing on prevention. People are also beginning to see positive results in using coconut oil to reverse the effects of Alzheimer’s.'

How Fitness Protects Aging Brains

By Dr. Mercola

'Aging Americans are experiencing cognitive decline in numbers never before seen. Alzheimer’s disease has reached epidemic proportions in the United States. Consider these troubling statistics from the Alzheimer’s Association1:

5.4 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease. It’s estimated that up to 16 million will have the disease by 2050.

One in eight Americans age 65 and over has Alzheimer’s. Every 68 seconds, another American develops Alzheimer’s disease.

Alzheimer’s disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the U.S. and the 5th leading cause of death for those aged 65 and older.
Alzheimer’s deaths increased by 66 percent between 2000 and 2008.
One in seven of the estimated 800,000 people with Alzheimer’s lives alone, left to fend for himself/herself.

If you develop Alzheimer’s disease, it’s a far greater problem than just memory loss — it can kill you. And it makes every other medical problem much more difficult to treat. Although many will claim Alzheimer’s is not preventable, there ARE measures you can take that will lower your odds of developing age-related cognitive decline or, worst case scenario, full on dementia.'

The Sugar and Alzheimer's Connection

'Egged on by massive food-industry marketing budgets, Americans eat a lot of sugary foods. We know the habit is quite probably wrecking our bodies, triggering high rates of overweight and diabetes. Is it also wrecking our brains?
That's the disturbing conclusion emerging in a body of research linking Alzheimer's disease to insulin resistance—which is in turn linked to excess sweetener consumption. A blockbuster story in the Sept. 3 issue of the UK magazine The New Scientist teases out the connections.'

Could eating too much junk food give you Alzheimer's?

'Alzheimer’s is one of the major medical problems of our age.
A ghastly disease that condemns millions to years of confusion and fear, it also threatens to bankrupt our health system — yet doctors don’t really know what causes it, or how to treat it effectively.
But could that be about to change?'

Researchers Discover Type III Diabetes

brain31 300x233 Researchers Discover Type III Diabetes

'Groundbreaking research from Rhode Island on the causes of Alzheimer’s disease has discovered this degenerative brain condition is actually another type of diabetes — Type III. Until now most treatments for this form of dementia have been largely ineffective and centered on getting rid of symptoms. This research has opened a new avenue of treatment that suggests the potential for restoring of normal brain function.'

Nervous-System Damage From the Sky

'Chemtrails rain aluminum nanoparticles on man, beast, and land. “Chemtrails” is a spin-off from “contrails,” which are the condensation trails sometimes left behind flying aircraft. Some believe these contrails are chemical trails being deliberately sprayed from aircrafts for unknown reasons.

There is current concern in the United States about the increasing number of neurodegenerative patients. Since 2000, the number of Alzheimer’s patients has increased from 4.5 million to 5.4 million in 2012. One in eight people 65 or older have Alzheimer’s. A yearly increase seems inevitable because of the aging population, but environmental factors also play a role.'

Silicon-Rich Water May Help Prevent Alzheimer’s: Study

'Alzheimer’s disease has become rampant, stealing the sunset years of millions. You may be able to avoid it, though, simply by drinking the right kind of water. A new study, one of a series, provides ever more support that silicon-rich water can prevent or reverse it.'

'Christopher Exley is a leading scientist on the issue of aluminum toxicity. He refers to this time as the Aluminum Age. It’s everywhere, and not just in construction, but also in a host of daily-use products, such as deodorants, and is commonly found in vaccinations.

As a result, aluminum is routinely found in the human body, though it has no metabolic role—and it’s strongly implicated as a cause of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Clearly, if you can leach it from your body, you are giving yourself better odds of avoiding that devastating disease, which steals our golden years and puts so much stress on our families.

Dr. Exley’s latest study is designed to determine whether silicon dissolved in water (silicic acid) can chelate aluminum from the body and whether it might have any harmful effects by chelating too much of other metals. In an e-mail exchange, he informed me that:'

Marijuana Cannabinoids Found to Help Combat Autism

'The cannabinoid compounds naturally found in many varieties of cannabis, also known more commonly as marijuana, may help children with autism spectrum disorders experience dramatic behavioral improvements, and potentially even full recovery from their symptoms. These are the findings of a new study published in the journal Nature Communications that help reinforce the growing body of evidence which shows that medicinal cannabinoids hold incredible potential in both treating and potentially curing chronic illness.'

Is Alzheimers Just Another Form of Diabetes? How Our Diet May Be Destroying Our Brains

'Even if you can detach yourself from the suffering caused by diseases arising from bad diets, you will carry the cost, as a growing proportion of the health budget will be used to address them. The cost - measured in both human suffering and money - could be far greater than we imagined. A large body of evidence now suggests that Alzheimer's is primarily a metabolic disease. Some scientists have gone so far as to rename it. They call it diabetes type 3

New Scientist carried this story on its cover this September: since then I've been sitting in the library trying to discover whether it stands up. I've now read dozens of papers on the subject, testing my cognitive powers to the limit as I've tried to get to grips with brain chemistry. While the story is by no means complete, the evidence so far is compelling. '
