Needless Cancer Therapy: 75 Percent Undergo Unnecessary Treatment After Breast Screening

ED NOTE: This article does a good job at bringing attention to unnecessary cancer treatments based on early screening in the UK. But because it's a mainstream media source, it only included statistics from mainstream medicine that slightly skew the whole picture, making it look like conventional cancer therapies have a high cure rate when they don't - compared to so-called "alternative" therapies.

'About 4,000 women each year endure gruelling, unnecessary treatment for breast cancers that were not life-threatening, a review has found.
For every life saved by early detection, three women have therapy they do not need, according to the most definitive investigation of breast cancer screening so far.
Nearly all are given aggressive treatments – including chemotherapy, radiotherapy or having a breast removed – even though they might never have experienced any symptoms during their lifetime because their cancers were slow growing or non-aggressive.'

The Dark Side of Breast Cancer (un)Awareness Month

© PreppyGirlGreen

'Sadly, Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a time of increasing awareness not of the preventable causes of breast cancer, but of the breast cancer industry's insatiable need to both raise money for research into a pharmaceutical cure, and to promote its primary means of "prevention": early detection via x-ray mammography.

On first account, a pharmaceutical "cure" is as unlikely as it is oxymoronic. Drugs do not cure disease anymore than bullets cure war. Beneath modern medicine's showy display of diagnostic contraptions, heroic "life-saving" procedures, and an armory of exotic drugs of strange origin and power, it is always the body's ability to heal itself - beneath the pomp and circumstance - that is truly responsible for medicine's apparent successes. Too often, in spite of what medicine does to "treat" or "save" the body, it is the body which against invasive chemical and surgical medical interventions, silently treats and saves itself.'

New Study: Many Breast Tumors Will Spontaneously Regress

'A groundbreaking study published this month in The Lancet Oncology shows for the first time that many screen-detected invasive breast tumors spontaneously regress when undiagnosed and untreated.

The study investigated the natural history of breast cancers detected in the Swedish mammography screening program between 1986 to 1990, involving 650,000 women.'

Rothschilds and Big Pharma Pushing Breast Cancer Drugs for Healthy Women

'Up to one in 10 women could benefit from anti-cancer treatments such as tamoxifen even before they show signs of the disease, according to an international panel of experts.

But there are concerns the drug could have side-effects, such as blood clots and, in some cases, womb cancer.
In a paper published today in The Lancet Oncology, the specialists call for a radical new approach to identifying and treating patients who are at risk.'

'This 'International Panel of Experts' is lead by Professor Jack Cusick of the Wolfson Institute, an organisation funded by the Rothschilds, City of London Corporation and a plethora of Big Pharma Companies. No conflict of interest there then!'

Editor's Note: David Icke posted the above satirical comment in italics and linked to the UK mainstream article which wrote the Big Pharma press release.

But here's an interesting excerpt from elsewhere: 'In September 2000, The Lancet reported a study which showed that the drug tamoxifen, often used to treat breast cancer and as a preventive in some high risk women as well, increased the risk of developing endometrial cancer. In addition, this risk increased with time, leading researchers to question the use of the drug in healthy women. It found that women who took tamoxifen for 2 to 5 years had twice the risk of the cancer as women who have not taken it. Women who had taken it for 5 years or more have a seven times higher risk of endometrial cancer. The total increased risk for all women who used tamoxifen at all was 50%. Advanced endometrial cancers were more common in women who had taken tamoxifen long-term than in those who had not. The 3-year survival for endometrial cancer was "significantly worse" for long-term tamoxifen users.' Excerpted from this article here ...

Could Legalizing Marijuana in California Help Cure Breast Cancer?

'For 70 years, we've been taught that marijuana has no accepted medical use and that its high potential for abuse demands absolute prohibition. Medical research has been nearly impossible since obtaining the substance for legitimate studies is restricted by the federal government.

But for a moment, forget the anti-drug ads of stoned teenagers passing the bong and click instead on the National Library of Medicine's website, “Pubmed.gov.” Look under "breast cancer and cannabinoid” and you will find studies in scientific journals like Breast Cancer Research and Treatment that should warrant immediate action: “Our data demonstrate the efficacy of CBD in pre-clinical models of breast cancer. The results have the potential to lead to the development of novel non-toxic compounds for the treatment of breast cancer metastasis…”'

The Best Breast Test: The Promise of Thermography

http://www.creativewellnesscenter.com/images/thermography1.jpg

By Dr. Christiane Northrup

'Every year when Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) comes around I am a saddened and surprised that thermography hasn't become more popular. Part of this is my mindset. I'd rather focus on breast health and ways to prevent breast cancer at the cellular level than put the emphasis on testing and retesting until you finally do find something to poke, prod, cut out or radiate. That's why I call October Breast Health Awareness Month, not Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I understand that mammography has been the gold standard for years.

'Doctors are the most familiar with this test, and many believe that a mammogram is the best test for detecting breast cancer early. But it's not. Studies show that a thermogram identifies precancerous or cancerous cells earlier, and produces unambiguous results, which cuts down on additional testing--and it doesn't hurt the body. Isn't this what women really want?'
