‘Hidden Dangers’ of Mammograms Every Woman Should Know About

'Millions of women undergo them annually, but few are even remotely aware of just how many dangers they are exposing themselves to in the name of prevention, not the least of which are misdiagnosis, overdiagnosis and the promotion of breast cancer itself. '

Antiperspirants: Cause of Breast Cancer?

Antiperspirants: Cause of Breast Cancer?

'Recent decades have brought enormous increases in breast cancer. Rather than look for a reason, most research has centered on finding treatments, though with little effect on outcomes. Philippa Darbre, though, has dedicated her efforts to finding if aluminum, a known human toxin that's the basis for antiperspirants, could be the culprit.

We live in the Age of Aluminum, a time that brings great convenience, but at the expense of enormous health damage. A likely case in point is the massive upsurge in breast cancer and fibrocystic disease, a condition of cyst formation in the breasts. Aluminum of the periodic table is the most likely cause of both these conditions.'

Interview with Lynne Farrow, Author of The Iodine Crisis (Part 1)

Interview Lynne Farrow

'This is part one of a two-part interview.

Lynne Farrow is the author of the important new book, The Iodine Crisis: What You Don’t Know About Iodine Can Wreck Your Life.

Lynne answered some of my questions about the book and her experience recovering from breast cancer with iodine in this two-part interview.
Interview with Lynne Farrow, Author of The Iodine Crisis

1. How did you get so interested in iodine?

You know how you hear about chance meetings where you bump into someone at an event and they change your life? That’s what happened to me. I attended an integrative medicine conference just like many others and there was a break between presentations. Dr. Sherri Tenpenny saw from my conference ID badge that I represented a breast cancer organization so she asked me if I had ever heard of iodine for breasts.'

'In 2010, a study published in Environmental Health linked the regular use of basic cleaning products to breast cancer, suggesting that it could double the risk.

An earlier study suggested that cleaning products and air fresheners containing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) reduced lung function by 4 percent—yet these dangerous compounds were not listed on the product labels since companies are not required to disclose them.

Other research has indicated that the use of spray household cleaners could increase the risk of developing asthma by nearly 50 percent. A 2012 study noted that 65 percent of exposures to potentially dangerous toxins in household cleaning products were in children less than five years of age.'

Confirmed: The Lower Your Bone Density, The Lower Your Breast Cancer Risk

Confirmed: The Lower Your Bone Density, The Lower Your Breast Cancer Risk

'When older women are told that their bones should be as dense as a young adult (30 year old) at peak bone mass, things can and do go terribly wrong.

A new study published in The Breast Journal, authored by researchers at the Department of Surgery, St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center, New York, NY confirms numerous past studies showing low bone mineral density lowers the risk of breast cancer, [...] and validates the hypothesis that women with breast cancer and low bone mineral density will have lower breast cancer recurrence rates than women with so-called 'normal' bone density.'

Iodine: A Breast Cancer Cure?

Iodine: Breast Cancer Cure?

'Could iodine be a breast cancer cure?

One of my good friends died last year of breast cancer. She was in her 40s. Nowadays, none of us are immune. One in 8 women in the US are diagnosed with breast cancer.
Iodine: Breast Cancer Cure?

I’ve been reading the new book, The Iodine Crisis: What You Don’t Know About Iodine Can Wreck Your Life by Lynne Farrow, founder of BreastCancerchoices.org. (Look for my review on the blog soon.)

Here are some interesting quotes from the book:

Breast cancer rates have risen since the 1970s as iodine consumption decreased and anti-iodine bromine exposure increased.'

EXPOSED: Angelina Jolie part of a clever corporate scheme to protect billions in BRCA gene patents, influence Supreme Court decision (opinion)

'Angelina Jolie's announcement of undergoing a double mastectomy (surgically removing both breasts) even though she had no breast cancer is not the innocent, spontaneous, "heroic choice" that has been portrayed in the mainstream media. Natural News has learned it all coincides with a well-timed for-profit corporate P.R. campaign that has been planned for months and just happens to coincide with the upcoming U.S. Supreme Court decision on the viability of the BRCA1 patent.'

That is, breast tumors don’t kill, but their metastases do.'

Selenium Medicine E-Book Launch

Selenium Medicine E-Book Cover

'On Christmas Eve of last year (2012) I received a telephone call from someone I will always remember as a selenium angel. Because of him I wrote this book Selenium Medicine and started experimenting on myself by self-administering startling high dosages of a special type of selenium.

This is an important book because selenium figures in so strongly to the cancer story as the latest large population-based cohort study from The Netherlands suggests. This is not the first time that scientists are telling us that selenium may protect against advanced prostate cancer.'

'Natural aromatase inhibitors offer powerful protection against breast cancer and its recurrence. When diets high in natural foods that contain natural aromatase inhibitors are eaten, breast cancers in postmenopausal women don’t get a chance to start, according to research from the University of Munster in Germany. Scientists there have found that aromatase inhibitors are what keep normal cells from developing to the point where they can be classified as Grade 1 cancer.'

Dr. Christiane Northrup’s Top Tips for Women’s Breast Health

'Breast cancer is the leading cause of death among American women between the age of 40-55, and the high prevalence has spawned a very lucrative industry; from mammography and other dangerous or invasive testing methods, to “preventive” double mastectomies and cancer drugs.

Much effort is placed on trying to detect cancer at an earlier stage. Unfortunately, the conventional recommendation to get regular mammograms has shown to be more harmful than helpful, as research shows 10 times as many women are harmed in some way compared to those whose lives are spared by annual mammograms.

Is there a better way to prevent becoming a statistic?'

Can You Cut Your Breast Cancer Risk by Skipping Mammograms?

'In the US, women are still urged to get an annual mammogram starting at the age of 40, despite the fact that updated guidelines set forth by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force in 2009 urge women to wait until the age of 50, and to only get bi-annual screening thereafter.

Unfortunately, many women are completely unaware that the science simply does not back up the use of routine mammograms as a means to prevent breast cancer death.

What’s worse, the “new and improved” tomosynthesis mammogram, which provides a three-dimensional (3D) image of the breast,1 is now being hoisted on women across the US as “the answer” to mammography’s failing efficacy rates and pattern of harmful misdiagnosis.'
