'Most of the science on which our medicine is based is faked. In spite of this failure, highlighted by a fourth of ICU patients being misdiagnosed, medical hubris presumes to tell us what we can and cannot do with our own bodies.'
'A new study published in BMJ (formerly the British Medical Journal) shows that more than one-fourth of all intensive care unit patients are misdiagnosed, and those misdiagnoses lead to 40,500 extra deaths in Britain. Gaia Health is not interested in criticizing doctors simply for making errors or missing diagnoses. They are human. They don’t know it all, and it’s unreasonable to expect them to be all-knowing.
However, the medical profession has taken the stance that they have the right to determine what health care we wish to choose. In light of a failing so severe—misdiagnosing one-fourth of all intensive care patients, resulting in tens of thousands of deaths—it clarifies the incomparably hubristic nature of the profession.'
