Be Where You Are…Not Where You Aren’t


'The really ironic thing is that when we’re struggling we’re missing the point right out of the gate. When we’re struggling it’s time to get some Zen. Being fully here and now is the objective. But there’s a daily path to this realization.

Obviously there’s a lot we’re not consciously aware of. While it’s good to learn more continually, it’s not what should be our main motivation. Our driving force is spiritual breath. Being as fully awake and aware as possible and experiencing the infinite cosmos to it’s deepest depth one day at a time is our enlightened life. All else will be fulfilled in its time, but nothing is important enough to postpone living consciously.'

Earthing: Health Benefits from being Grounded



'Earthing' or 'grounding' has been getting a lot of attention of late in certain communities, so about a week ago I decided to take a look. Here, in summary is what I've learned.

What is 'earthing'?

Earthing is the practice of connecting the body with earth by touching skin to a conductive material such as grass (preferably wet), wet sand, a river, lake or sea.

Why would you want to do that?


When the body loses contact with the earth it can carry a positive voltage relative to the Earth. Some people believe this is not good for health and wellbeing. Earthing the body returns the voltage to zero which is, supposedly better for us.'

Why Spending Time in Nature is Therapeutic



'As reported in the journal Current Directions in Psychological Science, only the actual view of the outdoors had a calming effect; the plasma window was no more restorative than the blank wall. In other words, the technological version of nature--even when it came in HDTV quality--couldn't fool the neurons.

But what exactly is being restored by such immediate connection with nature? Or, put another way, what am I missing by staying indoors with my TV all winter? University of Michigan psychologist Marc Berman believes that nature actually shifts our brain from one processing mode to another.'
