Death's Head Caduceus

'A shocking study that should have received serious attention from the press and doctors seems to have been ignored. It documents that the death rate of depressed people who take antidepressants is, on average, 1.6 times greater than those who don’t take them.

The respected journal, PLoS ONE, published the study in June 2010. It will come as no surprise that there was no pharmaceutical money funding the study. Performed in Australia, the study followed 5,276 men aged 68-88. It’s certainly true that depression can result in suicide.

The death rate of those diagnosed as depressed is significantly greater than others, and that mortality increases with increasing severity of depression. Those points were the authors’ focus. However, the study also shows that the men who are depressed and take tricyclic, SSRI, or any other antidepressants die at a significantly greater rate than those who don’t.'

Anti-Depressants Killing Sex Drive, Triggering Suicide

'A Recent study on antidepressants has shown that the drugs have some serious side effects: those taking certain prescriptions could lose their sex drive. It sounds like the whole nation’s sexuality is under a threat as, according to the statistics, one in ten Americans takes antidepressants.'

Antidepressants Could Cause Harm to Heart, Brain, and Bones

Anti-depressant drugs don't work

'Did you know that roughly 10% of the American population suffers from depression? It isn’t exactly a coincidence, with the FDA approving a wide variety of damaging foods and drugs that many millions of Americans consume each day. The FDA isn’t helping the population with their approval of the dozens of antidepressant medications on the market – it in fact is doing the exact opposite.'

'At best, the tangible results felt by patients are comparable to sugar pills. That is to say, the medication itself does virtually nothing to improve the mood of the patient directly. At worst, antidepressants cause decreased mental stability. Wanting to kill yourself or others around you are feelings which antidepressants have been shown to ignite.'

Antidepressant Drugs: He Murdered a Friend After Taking Prozac

'A Canadian judge has ruled that a teenage boy murdered his friend because of the effects of Prozac. The ruling will not be appealed. The decision has revived the debate regarding the widespread prescription of antidepressants to young people.

Justice Robert Heinrichs ruled that the 15-year-old boy was under the influence of the medication when he stabbed and killed a close friend. He was sentenced to 10 months on top of the two years he had already spent in jail. "Prozac is meant to curb the effects of depression, but Justice Heinrich concluded it set off a steady deterioration in the young murderer's behavior,"

CCHR1 reports: "He had become irritable, restless, agitated, aggressive and unclear in his thinking," the judge said. "It was while in that state he overreacted in an impulsive, explosive and violent way. Now that his body and mind are free and clear of any effects of Prozac, he is simply not the same youth in behavior or character." '

'It’s bad enough that antidepressants don’t work. But the fact that Big Pharma has known all along has now been proven. It took a Freedom of Information Act request to get the data, but now that we have it, there is no way that the mass use of antidepressants can possibly be justified, especially in light of the massive amount of harm they do.

Irving Kirsch of Harvard Medical School has studied the placebo effect for over 30 years. He requested the data for studies that had not been published. When those results were added in, almost no benefit could be shown for antidepressants.'
