'The wide scale US acceptance of fluoride-related compounds in drinking water and a wide variety of consumer products over the past half century is a textbook case of social engineering orchestrated by Sigmund Freud's nephew and the “father of public relations” Edward L. Bernays.
The episode is instructive, for it suggests the tremendous capacity of powerful interests to reshape the social environment, thereby prompting individuals to unwarily think and act in ways that are often harmful to themselves and their loved ones. The example is especially pertinent today as Western governments withhold data and utilize propaganda techniques to suppress knowledge of new technologies and life-threatening disasters such as the still-unfolding nuclear breakdown in Fukushima.'

Nuclear Arms and Fluoride: The Conspiracy
'Fluoride is an extremely toxic chemical, and huge amounts were required for the manufacture of uranium and plutonium needed for nuclear weapons throughout the Cold War. Fluoride became the leading chemical health hazard of the US atomic bomb program. Then, in the summer of 1943, farmers downwind of the E.I. du Pont de Nemours Company chemical factory in Deepwater, New Jersey, began to report that crops were being affected by an unknown agent.
After a severe thunderstorm, poultry in the area died. Horses and cows were having difficulty walking and seemed stiff (a sign of fluoride toxicity). Farm workers who ate the produce they had picked began vomiting violently. Meanwhile, the New Jersey factory was producing millions of pounds of fluoride for the Manhattan Project, and unsurprisingly, a severe pollution incident had occurred.'

Fluoride & the Pineal Gland: Study Published in Caries Research
'The wheels of science grind very slowly. Finally, the first half of the work that was the subject of Jennifer Luke's Ph.D. thesis; presentation in Bellingham, Washington (ISFR conference) in 1998 and a videotaped interview I had with her, has been published in Caries Research.
In my view this work is of enormous importance and could be (or should be) the scientific straw that breaks the camel's back of fluoridation.'
It seems that this myth - about the benefits of fluoride - is a particularly tough one to die. We should give credit though ... that campaign, originally undertaken to avert liabilities for industrial fluoride poisoning, was vastly successful - and we're still not quite over it.

Fluoride Poisoning It's All Over
'German and Austrian scientists knew in the early 1930s that an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) could be successfully treated by bathing patients in water containing minute amounts of fluoride. They had discovered nearly a century ago that fluoride blocked thyroid function. For the US government, long partnered with the pharmaceutical industry, to then force this same treatment on a nation of people with healthy thyroids under the lie that fluoride "prevents cavities in children," is unconscionable.
The Nuremberg Code of ethics pertaining to human experimentation labels it an act of crime, stating, "The voluntary consent of the human subject is absolutely essential." Today, 70% of the US is being forced to receive this thyroid-blocking chemical via their water without consent or medical monitoring for overdose, allergic reaction or blocked thyroid function. The benefits are being reaped by the largest of US industries: The pharmaceutical industry. Fluoride has created a nation of suffering people seeking more drugs to treat blocked thyroids and fluoride toxicity. We might drink bottled water, but most of us cannot avoid the bathwater.'

'The editorial in the Watsonville Register-Pajaronian offered local voters some blunt advice: "Shield your eyes," it said, "because the City Council is preparing to spit in your face."
That was this month, as the council inched toward finally fluoridating the city's water -- a state-mandated action that has been bitterly debated since city residents narrowly voted to block it in 2002. At a council meeting in January, an anti-fluoridation activist held up a sign alluding to Nazis. When speakers threatened to boycott local businesses if fluoridation goes through, a council member told them to jump off the parking-garage roof.'
