These are the promises Monsanto India’s website makes, alongside pictures of smiling, prosperous farmers from the state of Maharashtra. This is a desperate attempt by Monsanto and its PR machinery to delink the epidemic of farmers’ suicides in India from the company’s growing control over cotton seed supply — 95 per cent of India’s cotton seed is now controlled by Monsanto.'

This is why labeling GMOs, though a good idea, won't stop GMOs. We have to help organize the farmers to simply not plant them and help them defend against Monsanto's "legal" seed tyranny. A couple of California counties have banned them because of agricultural concerns regarding seed and plant contamination of non-GMO crops from GMO fields, which has happened. Another Oregon county is working on that as well. Those two strategies need to be used or there will be no choices in the not too distant future regardless of labels. And there won't be any farmers left to plant organic crops either. Monsanto is on a mission to control all food and they're backed by the "legal" absurdity of patenting life.
