Monsanto’s Patent Appeal Rejected by Indian Government, Saving Farmers, Food and Lives

'Monsanto’s attempts to patent further seeds and bankrupt entire generations of farmers and their families that have successfully farmed for centuries have been halted—at least in India—for now.

Less than a week ago, Monsanto got more than a slap on the wrist from the Indian government – they were delivered two fat rejections – one from the patent appeals court and another rejection that was upheld by the Intellectual Property Appellate Board.'

'As recently reported by CNBC1 and other media outlets,2, 3 an unapproved strain of genetically engineered (GE) wheat has been found growing on a farm in Oregon. The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the anomaly on May 29.  

As it turns out, the Roundup Ready (i.e. glyphosate-resistant) strain of wheat was developed by Monsanto and field tested in 16 different states between 1998 and 2005. Plans to bring it to market were abandoned ... Many countries importing US wheat do not permit GE ingredients in their food, or require such foods to be labeled.  

About 50 percent of the wheat grown in the US is exported. The finding of illegal GE wheat contamination may dramatically alter this ratio however.

David Versus Monsanto - The Slow Killing of Independent Farms

This is why labeling GMOs, though a good idea, won't stop GMOs. We have to help organize the farmers to simply not plant them and help them defend against Monsanto's "legal" seed tyranny. A couple of California counties have banned them because of agricultural concerns regarding seed and plant contamination of non-GMO crops from GMO fields, which has happened. Another Oregon county is working on that as well. Those two strategies need to be used or there will be no choices in the not too distant future regardless of labels. And there won't be any farmers left to plant organic crops either. Monsanto is on a mission to control all food and they're backed by the "legal" absurdity of patenting life.

'Yes, he signed HR 993. It was a bill funding the federal government. There was a rider in it. A Monsanto and biotech rider.

The gist of the rider is: a dangerous ghoulish GMO food crop can’t be stopped by a court order. That crop can still be grown, harvested, and sold in the US.
Isn’t that wonderful? Isn’t it grand?

250,000 people signed an emergency letter to Obama, telling him to send HR 993 back to Congress so the rider could be removed. He didn’t.'

Monsanto’s Halloween: GMO Tricks and Treats

'As a mother, I have wondered for a long time about the hyped scares around Halloween treats – razors in apples, for example. They seemed just the finest means to get parents to buy industrial candy and avoid all the nice homemade things the neighbors made for kids – popcorn balls, fudge, cookies, etc.

Halloween used to be a yearly expression of love from neighbors, and a time of great delight in all the cute neighborhood kids.

Media kicked the tar out of that. They created fear of neighbors and fear of homemade food and handed Halloween over to the processed food companies. Entirely unreasonable fear of our own neighbors has made the companies a fortune.

Perhaps reasonable fear will change that now. Because almost all of the candy sold for Halloween is made from either high-fructose Monsanto’s GMO corn syrup or Monsanto’s GMO sugar, and Monsanto’s GMOs are not something any child should be eating.'

Whole Foods’ SICKENING TRICKS

'In a Whole Foods store not far from the corporate headquarters, a customer did the unthinkable.  They showed pictures of the rats in the Criigen study to a few other WF customers (all of whom were grateful and asked for the link).

Monsanto: A Modern Day Plague

Monsanto's Roundup: The Effect on Honeybees

'An Illinois beekeeper whose bee hives were stolen and allegedly destroyed by the Illinois Department of Agriculture has stirred up a hornet's nest with his questions on why the state did this, and most importantly, what they did with his bees. The state claims the bees were destroyed because they were infected with a disease called foulbrood.

But when the 58-year apiary keeper had his hearing—three weeks after the removal of his bees without his knowledge—the state's "evidence" had disappeared, leaving more questions than answers about the raid on the beekeeper's hives.

Some people, including the beekeeper, Terrence Ingram, suspect the raid has more to do with Ingram's 15 years of research on Monsanto's Roundup and his documented evidence that Roundup kills bees, than it does about any concerns about his hives. Interestingly, the state's theft targeted the queen bee and hive he'd been using to conduct the research.'
