Whole Foods’ SICKENING TRICKS

'In a Whole Foods store not far from the corporate headquarters, a customer did the unthinkable.  They showed pictures of the rats in the Criigen study to a few other WF customers (all of whom were grateful and asked for the link).

U.S.-Canadian Border Deal to Streamline GMO Approval: Confirmed

 

'Our report sounding the alarm that Obama and Harper’s secretive border deal, due to be signed next week, would be used to fast track GMO acceptance has been confirmed. The details have been kept under wraps, but recent reports revealed that the ‘Beyond Borders’ security and law enforcement deal would also seek to ‘harmonize’ U.S. and Canadian regulatory standards for food, auto and other trade sectors.

The Globe and Mail confirms that the North American Union security perimeter initiative, sold to the public as new security measures at the border, has a second major component– the Canada-U.S. Regulatory Co-operation Council.

Mr. Harper… said there are two issues on the joint security and economic agenda of the two countries. One, he said, is the border and perimeter initiative, and the other is Canada-U.S. Regulatory Co-operation Council.

“We are seeking ways of ensuring security in North America while at the same time making sure that we continue strong Canadian access to the American market,” Mr. Harper told reporters.

This will encompass far more than just the terms under which food can cross the border– it will put approval for biotechnology on a fast track in both countries and impose FDA and other regulations on both countries.'

Monsanto GM corn harvest fails massively in South Africa

'South African farmers suffered millions of dollars in lost income when 82,000 hectares of genetically-manipulated corn (maize) failed to produce hardly any seeds.The plants look lush and healthy from the outside. Monsanto has offered compensation. 

Monsanto blames the failure of the three varieties of corn planted on these farms, in three South African provinces, on alleged ‘underfertilisation processes in the laboratory”. Some 280 of the 1,000 farmers who planted the three varieties of Monsanto corn this year, have reported extensive seedless corn problems. Urgent investigation demanded.'

Canada Okays GMO Wheat!

'Canada is giving the go ahead to GMO wheat. Although it is not ready for production yet, the plans are set: The National Research Council plans to develop genetically modified wheat in Canada — a measure long resisted by the country’s wheat farmers. The NRC says Canadian wheat farmers are becoming less productive and need to adapt, especially in the face of climate change. It suggests GM wheat as a solution.'

The Rice With Human Genes

 

 'The first GM food crop containing human genes is set to be approved for commercial production. The laboratory-created rice produces some of the human proteins found in breast milk and saliva. Its U.S. developers say they could be used to treat children with diarrhoea, a major killer in the Third World. The rice is a major step in so-called Frankenstein Foods, the first mingling of human-origin genes and those from plants. 

But the U.S. Department of Agriculture has already signalled it plans to allow commercial cultivation. The rice's producers, California-based Ventria Bioscience, have been given preliminary approval to grow it on more than 3,000 acres in Kansas. The company plans to harvest the proteins and use them in drinks, desserts, yoghurts and muesli bars. The news provoked horror among GM critics and consumer groups on both sides of the Atlantic.'

National Organics Program - Testing for GMO's Not Required

'Yes, it’s true. There are most likely GMOs in our organic foods. Not because they are “allowed,” because they aren’t, but because contamination is widespread throughout the agricultural industry, and the USDA’s National Organics Program (NOP) is designed so that GMOs can enter USDA Certified Organics through “accidental contamination.”

You see, the program is “process based.” That means that as long as the approved process of growing the organic crop is followed, then there is no reason to believe that contamination exists, and therefore, no reason to conduct a test for GMOs. Move Over GMO Alfalfa, Here Come the Beets

'U.S. agricultural regulators on Friday said despite a court ban, they would allow commercial planting of genetically modified sugar beets under closely controlled conditions while they complete a full environmental impact statement. The move marks the second-such boost by the United States for contested biotech crops in a week, and underscores U.S. determination to expand the use of GMO crops amid rising global fears over food security and surging prices. After approving genetically altered alfalfa last week in the face of bitter protest and after court rulings against an earlier sugar beet approval, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said it would allow Monsanto Co’s (MON.N) “Roundup Ready” sugar beets back in the fields this spring.' October is Non-GMO Month

'Together we CAN get GMOs banned from the US. Europe was able to do it over a decade ago without any government assistance. All they did was educate the consumers, and that was enough pressure on the food industry to drop their ploys.

If we band together as an effective army we will be able to do this. Please understand that the VAST majority of people in the US do not want GM foods, so this is an EASY battle to win. All we have to do is a bit of organizational work.
