Monsanto controls our food, poisons our land, and influences all three branches of government.

'Forty percent of the crops grown in the United States contain their genes. They produce the world's top selling herbicide. Several of their factories are now toxic Superfund sites. They spend millions lobbying the government each year. It's time we take a closer look at who's controlling our food, poisoning our land, and influencing all three branches of government. To do that, the watchdog group Food and Water Watch recently published a corporate profile of Monsanto.

Patty Lovera, Food and Water Watch assistant director, says they decided to focus on Monsanto because they felt a need to "put together a piece where people can see all of the aspects of this company."'

Monsanto’s attack on James Stewart?

 

'As articles are written on what is happening to Rawesome Foods owner, James Stewart, one significant connection has been left out.

Monsanto’s former lawyer and VP, Michael Taylor, now Czar of the FDA “food safety” division, ordered the armed attacks on Stewart. He did this at the very same time Monsanto is in a fierce battle in California to stop the labeling of its proven-toxic and fertility-impairing GMOs.

 
On one hand, Monsanto is working to ensure that its toxic products are kept unlabeled so they continue to be unwittingly eaten, removing people’s choice; on the other, it is working to stop people like Stewart from providing real, nutritious, safe food, removing any option to their toxic products. 
 
They are going so far as to used armed force, multiple agencies, charges of felonies, and conditions in jail that are at best, ridiculously out of proportion to anything Stewart did (a missing certification for goat milk?) and health threatening.'

Monsanto Corn Crop Failures Prove You Can't Fool Mother Nature

'In Illinois, Monsanto's insect killing corn is keeling over dead. Apparently, super insects have developed as a direct result of their Bt corn. The crops are grown from the seeds of their own destruction.

It should come as no surprise. Just as drug-resistant bacteria develop from antibiotics, pesticide-resistant insects develop from pesticides. The bottom line isn't always the money that Monsanto focuses on. Ultimately, Mother Nature dictates another bottom line, and that may be death.

Roundup Birth Defects: Regulators Knew World's Best-Selling Herbicide Causes Problems, New Report Finds

 

'Industry regulators have known for years that Roundup, the world's best-selling herbicide produced by U.S. company Monsanto, causes birth defects, according to a new report released Tuesday.
 
The report, "Roundup and birth defects: Is the public being kept in the dark?" found regulators knew as long ago as 1980 that glyphosate, the chemical on which Roundup is based, can cause birth defects in laboratory animals.

But despite such warnings, and although the European Commission has known that glyphosate causes malformations since at least 2002, the information was not made public.'

GM food toxins found in the blood of 93% of unborn babies

 

'Toxins implanted into GM food crops to kill pests are reaching the bloodstreams of women and unborn babies, alarming research has revealed.

A landmark study found 93 per cent of blood samples taken from pregnant women and 80 per cent from umbilical cords tested positive for traces of the chemicals.

Millions of acres in North and South America are planted with GM corn containing the toxins, which is fed in vast quantities to farm livestock around the world – including Britain.

Monsanto Shifts ALL Liability to Farmers

'Farmers like genetically modified (GM) crops because they can plant them, spray them with herbicide and then there is very little maintenance until harvest.  Farmers who plant Monsanto's GM crops probably don't realize what they bargain for when they sign the Monsanto Technology Stewardship Agreement contract.  One farmer reportedly 'went crazy' when he discovered the scope of the contract because it transfers ALL liability to the farmer or grower.'

'U.S. agricultural regulators on Friday said despite a court ban, they would allow commercial planting of genetically modified sugar beets under closely controlled conditions while they complete a full environmental impact statement. The move marks the second-such boost by the United States for contested biotech crops in a week, and underscores U.S. determination to expand the use of GMO crops amid rising global fears over food security and surging prices. After approving genetically altered alfalfa last week in the face of bitter protest and after court rulings against an earlier sugar beet approval, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said it would allow Monsanto Co’s (MON.N) “Roundup Ready” sugar beets back in the fields this spring.' Court Orders Monsanto's GMO Sugarbeet to be Destroyed

A federal judge on Tuesday ordered the destruction of plantings of genetically modified sugar beets developed by Monsanto Co after ruling previously the U.S. Agriculture Department illegally approved the biotech crop.

U.S. District Court Judge Jeffrey White in August banned the planting and sales of Monsanto’s “Roundup Ready” biotech sugar beets after determining that their approval in 2005 by the USDA was illegal. He said the government must conduct a thorough environmental review before approving the crop to comply with the law.
