9 Body Hacks to Naturally Increase Testosterone

Obesity, like diabetes, also appears to have a negative effect on testosterone levels, according to a new study. "The fact that almost one-third of the U.S. is obese, these observations have profound . . . public health implications," says Sandeep Dhindsa.

By Dr. Mercola
'Testosterone, a hormone produced primarily by the testicles, is often associated with the epitome of "manhood" (although women have testosterone, too).
Indeed, it does play a large role in male sexuality and reproduction, impacting such factors as sexual and reproductive function, muscle mass, and hair growth, but also has some less "flashy," albeit equally important, roles like maintaining bone density, levels of red blood cells and a sense of well-being.
Beginning around age 30, a man's testosterone levels begin to decline, and continue to do so as he ages.
A wide range of chemical exposures included prescribed drugs like statins, adversely impact testosterone production in men. At the same time, estrogen levels typically increase due to widespread exposures to estrogen-mimicking compounds in food, water and environmental pollutants.'

Vermont drafts food sovereignty resolution to protect health, food freedom

 http://www.naturemoms.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/food-freedom.jpg

'In response to the recent passage of "food safety" bills S. 510 and corresponding H.R. 2751, the Vermont Coalition for Food Sovereignty has drafted its own resolution called "The Vermont Resolution for Food Sovereignty." Crafted to declare and protect the food and health freedom rights of all Vermont citizens, the resolution is essentially a warning to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that it does not have jurisdiction over the food choices of the People of Vermont.'

Bribery and Graft abound, Reid attaches S.510 to clunkers

 http://farmwars.info/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/barn_dees4.jpg

'This bill gave the FDA a lot more than mandatory recall authority, and the last place I would look to ensure food safety is the FDA.  We have only to look at the cancerous history of the FDA in regards to pharmaceuticals to know that this agency should have been the last one considered to stand guard on our food supply.  How many people have been harmed, maimed, or killed as a result of FDA approved drugs that were lethal, yet approved for use on the public?  Anything for a buck, right?   When will we see Senator Durbin on the floor of the senate lamenting that?

This bill also authorized the hiring of thousands of new agents but these new agents won’t be on the docks inspecting imports before they enter the food supply and they won’t be used to increase the number of inspections in processing plants.  No….these new agents will be attacking domestic farmers and ranchers and they will do it knowing all the while that they are infringing on idividual rights, property rights and in clear violation of multiple Constitutional protections meant to prevent this very kind of thing from happening.'

S.510 is alive and funded by the House!

By Barbara H. Peterson
Farm Wars

'Just when you thought it was safe to relax a bit about S.510, here it is, alive and rolling through Congress like a fast-pitched baseball. It seems that nothing short of an act of God will stop this bill.

Sources on the Hill have informed us the Food Safety Bill was folded into the House Continuing Resolution, which authorizes the funding of government into 2011. As you may remember, the Food Safety Act was “blue slipped” by the House Democrats, after the Senate passed it, because Harry Reid included a section that raised taxes (which the Constitution requires to begin in the House). (Truth Farmer)

Since it is quite possible that the text of this amendment will disappear from the Internet once people get wind of it, here is the full text of the amendment in PDF format taken from the following link: http://www.rules.house.gov/bills_details.aspx?NewsID=4787'

Good News—Food Safety Bill Suddenly on Life Support!

'The Senate’s controversial FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (S. 510) now appears to be dead in the water.
As we reported to you yesterday, the Senate passed its version of the Food Safety bill by a margin of 73 to 25, and sent it on to the House of Representatives for approval. Congressman Henry Waxman (D-CA) had previously agreed to accept the Senate’s bill in place of the House’s version, already approved, so this approval was expected to be pro-forma.'

Welcome to the Food Wars: Patriot Act for Food

'Need a good laugh? Check out the bizarre reasoning offered in support of the Patriot Act for Food (S 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act), which the U.S. Senate will vote on shortly (likely Monday). From a need to stop food smuggling, to the law is too old, to the terrorists are gonna get us, elites sure are shy on brains when it comes to credible propaganda.

They must be drinking fluoridated water and smoking Monsanto marijuana, or hoping you are. A couple weeks ago, we reported that Senator Bob Casey informed his Pennsylvania constituents that S.510 will stop food smuggling in the United States. Never heard of the problem? That might be because the “biggest food smuggling case in the history of the U.S.” amounted to $40 million worth of commercial grade honey over a five-year period. Food smuggling is clearly not a problem – nor is it a fiscally sound reason for giving the Food and Drug Administration an extra $1.6 billion.'

Shutdown of two small cheesemakers raises more doubts about food-safety legislation

 http://www.hyscience.com/food%20police.jpg

Editor's note: Are you confused about whether to support the Food Safety Modernization Act (S. 510)? You're not alone. We've decided to ask the major players to debate its pros and cons for an upcoming Food Fight roundtable -- watch for it late next week.

'In all the acrimony that has settled over Washington, one major legislative matter has continued to receive bipartisan support: food safety legislation intended to give the U.S. Food and Drug Administration vastly expanded powers to reduce the amount of contaminated food getting into distribution.

Highly publicized outbreaks over the last few years involving everything from spinach to peanut butter to ground beef to eggs have only seemed to heighten the support from consumer groups and the media alike. Grist contributor Elanor Starmer last week argued that we have a serious food safety problem only this legislation can resolve. The proposed legislation, strongly encouraged by the Obama administration, sailed through the U.S. House last fall, and then through a Senate committee earlier this year'
