Alternative Cancer Conference Banned by Town Council

'In response to Dr. Hopwood’s request as to whether the conference was now compliant with legislation after removing Dr. Simoncini from the conference lineup and making the requested changes to the clinic website, the Trading Standards responded with the following:

“The Cancer Act 1939 creates a criminal offense to take any part in the publication of any advertisement [for cancer treatment]. Your website and the conference itself does not fall into any of these exempt categories. Even the title of the conference and the title of your clinic, in our view, are likely to breach the legislation because of their promotion of cancer treatment.”

After Trading Standards asked for the booking to be cancelled and the conference banned, the Totnes Town Council caved to the pressure with the majority of councilors siding with the regulating body.'

House Votes Down Defunding Medical Marijuana Raids

'The threat letters are based on arbitrary standards having nothing to do with state medical marijuana laws. Instead, federal prosecutors typically allege that targeted dispensaries are within 1,000 feet of a school or playground. There is no federal law disallowing dispensaries in those areas, but there is a federal sentencing enhancement for drug law violations within them, and federal prosecutors are using that statute as a measuring rod for deciding which dispensaries to pick on.

The federal crackdown has, to some extent, worked. The Montana medical marijuana distribution scene was all but wiped out by federal raids and prosecutions, dozens of dispensaries have been forced out of business in Colorado, and more than 200 have closed in California. '

'A closer look at the attempt by North Carolina legislators to criminalize anything other than state sponsored health care is quite revealing.  Below is the bill text, sort of, with some observations about the language, or lack thereof, defining what this bill is actually intended to do.

What is apparent is that it is the first step in implementing various aspects of Codex Alimentarius which excludes any health practice not listed in the Codex.  Codex specifically targets and intends to end the use of alternative therapies and also vitamins and supplements.

When It Comes to Natural Health for Children, We're Living in a Police State

'Increasingly, state governments are determining what treatments a child can and cannot have—regardless of parents’ wishes. Three shocking stories prove the point.
In April 2003, Barbara Jensen took her son Parker, then twelve years old, to an oral surgeon to have a small growth removed from his tongue. The growth was diagnosed as Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. The medical center at the University of Utah recommended surgery and chemotherapy. The chemotherapy was very aggressive and ran the risk of making Parker sterile and stunting his growth.

The doctor who provided the diagnosis went to the state Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) and filed a medical neglect complaint against the Jensens in juvenile court, obtained a court order requiring chemotherapy, and a judge ordered the state of Utah to take custody of the boy.'

US Hospital Workers Fired For Refusing To Take Swine Flu Jab

PHILADELPHIA - December 4, 2009 (WPVI) -- 'This year, the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia made it mandatory for employees to get the seasonal flu shot. There were some exemptions made for medical or religious reasons, but some employees were denied that exemption and because they wouldn't get the shot they lost their jobs.

"We're very concerned because this is our livelihood, this is our main source of income, my husband and I, we have a mortgage; we have 5 children," terminated employee Tyrika Cowlay said.

'Tyrika and her husband are among nine CHOP employees who as of today lost their jobs due to refusing to be vaccinated against the seasonal flu.

'They refused the vaccine based on religious beliefs. They are not the only ones.

"I'm just standing up for what I believe in and it's hard, it really is," terminated employee Khadijah Muhammad said.

'Officials at CHOP say some religious exemption requests were accepted, others were not.

'Rodney Bond, a CHOP employee of more than 30 years who is now terminated, says this is not fair'
