Salt and Heart Disease: Shaky Science?

Salt and Heart Disease: Shaky Science?

'Recent news from the American Heart Association claims that 1 of every 10 Americans dies from eating too much salt. But is it true? Health organizations and groups with political agendas are ignoring a growing body of research finding that less salt does not equal a longer life and in fact can have some dire consequences.

The AHA news was based on a Harvard study using computer modeling to also estimate that 2.3 million people worldwide died of too much salt in 2010. The study recommended that dietary sodium be cut to 1,000 milligrams per day – less even than AHA guidelines.'

Heart-Centered Healing Produces The Most Powerful Effect On The Human Body

'Every cause of disease first begins with an imbalance in the body's energy systems, specifically, the interaction between how the heart communicates with the brain and the body. Fix that and there is no disease, ever. The heart can produce an electrical field 100 times greater than the brain and a magnetic field 5000 times greater. Which one are you using to heal?'

By Dr. Mercola
'Dying from a broken heart may seem more like a scene from a Shakespearean drama than reality, but extreme grief really can "break" your heart.
In the days after losing someone close to you, your risk of suffering from a heart attack goes through the roof -- increasing by up to 21 times!'

If You Lose a Loved One, You're at Serious Risk of Having a Heart Attack

'It's well known that psychological stress exacts a great physical toll on your health, but new research reveals just how extreme that toll can be.

In comparing how grief affects your heart disease risk within a period of time, researchers found that losing a significant person in your life raises your risk of having a heart attack the next day by 21 times, and in the following week by 6 times.'

Yoga improves mood, reduces inflammation and relieves chronic diseases

'As it turns out, yoga is no longer just a gentle stretching for aging hippies. Ongoing research shows that this ancient ritual improves mood, helps breast cancer survivors, reduces inflammation and counteracts fibromyalgia.

It's common knowledge that yoga improves mood and shrugs off stress, but until recently, we didn't know why. Chris Streeter, MD, and his colleagues from Boston University School of Medicine discovered that it may be because of yoga's ability to increase levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), an endogenous antidepressant neurotransmitter present in the brain.'

Magnesium and Sudden Death by Cardiac Arrest

http://healthyheart-healthyweight.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/heart-attack-symptoms.jpg

'Due to lack of magnesium the heart muscle can develop a spasm or cramp and stop beating. Most people, including doctors, don't know it but without sufficient magnesium we will die. It is more than helpful to understand that our life span will be reduced if we run too long without sufficient magnesium in our cells and that the principal way our life is cut short is through cardiac arrest.

Yet when someone dies of a heart attack people never say "He died from Magnesium Deficiency." Allopathic medicine is designed from the bottom up which means it ignores the true causes of death and disease. In the field of cardiology this is quite obvious.'

Fountain of Youth

 http://www.diabetesmine.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/red_heart.png

'This is not something that should be taken lightly. The spiritual heart, when wide open, represents a fountain of youth and a force that helps us resist environmental insults, infections and disease.

These past few days though I have been hearing rumors from a New Age friend that implied that enlightened people are not at risk from radiation contamination! It is being said that somehow the nuclear particles will pass elevated humans right by or that their bodies will know how to expel them.

So I wrote this essay to discuss this possibility, which in part I think is quite ridiculous, for how do we or how does anyone judge a person’s state of enlightenment?

But it is different with the heart. We can see and feel the heart shining from people’s hearts and it is written as well on their faces. The heart represents our basic capacity to care and feel. Inside the purified and free heart is a flow, a river, a current, a passion for life and a healing power with which no medical treatment can compete.

The greatest protector of health is the human heart. The heart is the vulnerability of being meaning when we are born we are pure and perfectly vulnerable.'

The Universe of the Heart

'After publishing More Bizarre Than Science Fiction I was both saturated and sick of the doom and gloom (so was my wife and a few others I know). I now feel inspired to share on a different level. I don’t think there is anyone out there reading my materials that can possibly say that I have not warned people sufficiently about the radiation and a broad array of issues that are confronting us. I have done my job—fulfilled my responsibilities of communicating truths as they present themselves to my consciousness.

In terms of my most recent writings the bottom line for me is that I still do not believe in coincidences—no matter what NASA says—synchronicity is something that touches us in many important ways and I am feeling that for my own life.'

'Do marathon runners really drop dead in the middle of a race? And if they do, why does it happen? It doesn’t make sense… shouldn’t they be in great shape?

We’re always told we need to exercise. It’s our best option for strengthening our hearts.
Yet, statistics prove that it’s no myth. Long-distance runners do drop dead. Usually in the middle of a run. And from fatal heart attacks.

So what’s really going on? We investigate the truth behind the headlines. And will give you the best option for losing weight… while helping your heart.'

Feelings of the Heart

 http://downeyubf.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/heart.jpg

by Dr. Mark Sircus

'They say our eyes are the windows into our souls. We can often see the pure heart in animals. This picture says a lot and we will not find such eyes in our leaders or bankers or doctors who inject vaccines full of poisons into our children.

We are facing a total crisis in modern civilization simply because of a great lack of heart. Greed, selfishness and separation have ruled, and so events have to take their natural course. We will not hear from industrialists any sorry for the hurt and ruin they do and it is the rare pediatrician who will apologize for the death of an infant resulting soon after vaccination.

And what can we say about the nuclear power industry and its supporters that are still beating our ears with the obscene rant that nuclear energy is safe even after they have opened up a hell on earth in Japan?'

This "Chinese Secret" Lowered Blood Pressure in 85% of Trials

 http://sp.life123.com/bm.pix/tai-chi.s600x600.jpg

by Dr Mercola

'The 2,000-year-old Chinese practice of tai chi is a branch of Qigong -- exercises that harness the qi (life energy). Tai chi has been linked to numerous health benefits, including improvements in the quality of life of breast cancer patients and Parkinson's sufferers. It has shown promise in treating sleep problems and high blood pressure. A recent study found that tai chi promotes balance, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness, and strength. A group of research subjects who practiced tai chi improved more than 30 percent in lower-body strength and 25 percent in arm strength -- nearly as much as a weight-training group and more than people who took up walking as exercise.'

According to U.S. News & World Report:
"... [I]n 85 percent of trials, tai chi lowered blood pressure. Other studies have shown it to reduce blood levels of B-type natriuretic peptide, a precursor of heart failure, and to maintain bone density in postmenopausal women."

The Problem with Interventional Drug Therapy for Coronary Heart Disease

By Caldwell B.Esselstyn, Jr., MD

'For the minority of heart patients, specifically those in the midst of heart attacks or acute coronary syndromes, stents or coronary artery bypass may be lifesaving. For the rest, none of the present therapies targets the cause: the Western diet. As a consequence, the disease marches on in all patients, which leads to more drugs, stents and bypasses, increasing heart damage, heart failure and, too often, death.

In 1985, I initiated a study that treated seriously ill patients with coronary artery disease with plant-based nutrition and succeeded in the arrest and reversal of their disease. This program has been published at 5, 12 and 16 years, and most recently summarized at 20 years in my book, "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease," making it one of the longest investigations of its type in medical research. The duration of the study is testimony that patients with coronary disease will adhere to these food changes for decades and beyond.'
